Issues is an amazing newsstand/zine/book/record/art/culture shop run by the always engaging duo of Noella and Joe.

With inventory featuring the likes of Lula, make/shift, and Hamburger Eyes, this is not your mom’s magazine shop (although there are tons of mags she would dig too).

I’ve recently become obsessed with the architectural journal Log, an obscure Belgian music mag called UV, and the totally inspirational Paris, LA.

Book topics range from European graffiti artists to punk houses to kid’s stories illustrated by Nikki McClure. These shelves are the source of many a gift purchased for myself and others. Yes, I buy myself gifts.

The record section is like a collection you’ve always dreamed of, all the good ones and no filler. Bonus points for having rare Joy Division vinyl (but don’t bother looking cuz I swooped that shit up!).

Not only is Issues also a perfect place to pick up t-shirts, letter pressed cards, planners, and hand-made jewelry, they host a bevy of art openings and happenings.

Basically, it’s your dream shop. I try to limit my visits so I don’t blow my entire paycheck, but Noella and Joe are just too damn nice. And I love magazines. And books. And records. Sigh.
